american idol“The cause of death of alumnus CJ Harris has been revealed. A 31-year-old man died of a heart attack, a spokesman for the Walker County coroner’s office confirmed to Fox News Digital on Thursday.

This was stated by Deputy Coroner Danielle Calloway. singer died Sunday night after being rushed to Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper, Alabama.

Calloway told Fox News Digital that doctors performed CPR on Harris at the hospital, but the effort was unsuccessful. He was declared dead due to a heart attack.

Harris competed on the 13th season of American Idol and placed sixth. Caleb Johnson won a reality show that aired in 2014.

Following his Idol debut, Harris launched his debut single “In Love” in 2019.

“CJ Harris was an incredible talent and we are deeply saddened by the news of his passing,” they wrote. “He will be truly missed.”

Sam Wolfe, who completed fifth on the present, recalled competing with Harris whereas paying tribute to the late singer.

“CJ was such a sincere and loving person,” he wrote on Instagram. “We became close friends during the show and were roommates during the tour.”

He added: “I am very grateful to have had this incredible experience with him along with Caleb and Alex. My thoughts are with his family. Calm down my dude.”

Alex Preston, who placed third, shared a photo of Harris, Wolfe and Johnson standing outside the tour bus.

He wrote: “Rest in peace CJ. I can’t believe it, I woke up and thought it was a dream. I love you dude. I will always remember the good times we had.”

Johnson recalled being roommates with Harris during “Hollywood Week” and forming a fraternity band with Preston and Woolf.

“So many amazing memories and experiences with you CJ! Life is so fragile! I am so grateful that our lives crossed paths in this lifetime,” Johnson added. “You have been a fantastic, type soul who all the time brightened up the room together with your smile and laughter. I really like you brother”.

Jess Maus, who placed fourth, posted a photo of herself with Harris on Instagram, writing, “It’s exhausting for me to listen to concerning the passing of colleague @americanidol and pal @cjharrismusic.”

She continued, “I am in total shock. We will miss your talent and smile, and without you, the world will definitely become darker and eerily quieter. I will miss your random phone calls asking for life advice and talking about the music world.”

“When you do one thing like Idol collectively, it brings everybody concerned collectively like an enormous, bizarre, dysfunctional household. I’m grateful that our paths crossed and I can say that you simply have been (and all the time can be) part of me. “

“There are many things that I understand I will never understand – you are leaving us so early – one of those things. Calm down, friend. See you on the other side.”
